On last Tuesday, in the afternoon, I experience a pain around my heart area that lasted for about 15 minutes. due to my awareness and my curiousity, I opened the Internet and found a plentiful information about ‘chest pain’. Then I found several possibilities:1. Coronary-related diseases2. Aortic dissection3. PericarditisInitially, I thought that it would be an aortic dissection, but that ‘diagnosis’ was untrue because the location of the pain did not correspond with the description and pictures on the Internet. Starting from last week (Wednesday), I ate oatmeal, combined with milk for my breakfast, as I have read also that it can lower the incidence of heart attacks (myocardial infarctions). not until this Sunday, I felt a great anxiety. I thought that I had to visit a physician soon.the next day, I had a good opportunity to see a doctor, because the school finished earlier (the teachers were going to set up a meeting). Fortunately, there is a doctor (a pathophysiologist) near my grandma’s house – usually I go there after school, due to the location of my ‘real’ home. I went there (dr. Wisman, M.Sc.) and he said to me that my arteries were somewhat tight, so he made some prescriptions. On the afternoon, I decided to buy the medications at a not-so-far medical store, and it costed around Rp 26,000.-. I did not want to take it first, and I hide those medications to prevent my family from being anxious too. How? at that time, I also need quite a number of paper holders to store my school documents. I went to the stationery shop first, which is just across the medical store, then I ordered the medication. However, I did not want to take it, because I have eaten nothing for the dinner (16.00 GMT + 7).unfortunately, a hour and a half later (17.30), I experienced a tight chest and my heart palpitated. I thought that doom is near. at that time, my father was going back from Muaraenim (a countryside region) to Palembang, so he cannot take me home from my grandma’s. So I phoned my Kuku (aunt, Chinese term for father’s older sister) to pick me up. her husband (Ku Chong) was in the car too. On the way, they examined my heartbeats and decided to test me using a sphygmomanometer at home (our houses are separated by a few metres). And I got 150/70 (which is a high tension, abnormal). She suggested me to see a doctor soon. at that time, my father had just arrived home, therefore he could drive for us.First, we phoned dr. Tuswati, a general practitioner, but unfortunately she was being hospitalised with unknown reason. Then we went to dr. Taufik’s, but he said that he cannot handle heart-related problems, since he is a ear-nose-throat specialist, but he recommended to go to the Aditiya clinic far in the Radial area (near the Sport Hall, the will-be Palembang Convention Center for this year’s Sea Games). when we arrived there, the cardiologist had just went home. Finally, with a little hope, we went to the Roman Catholic Hospital of Charity (Rumah Sakit RK Charitas) – currently the most active and popular hospital in the city to find the on-duty cardiologist (always 24/7 there are on-duty doctors on every aspects – cardiologists, dentists, pathophysiologist etc.). thank God that the cardiologist is there (I forgot the name). he examined me, and I told him my problems, and guess what did he say? He said that I did not suffer from any diseases, and it is caused by hypochondriasis and stress, a condition in which a person always thinks that something should be wrong with the body. because the cause is Internet, then it should be called cyberchondriasis. I was given a Vitamin supplement and stress reliever as the medication. the End. =)Probably this is my first post with several ‘alien’ terms haha =D I learned these terms from some medical readings and also the Internet sites which I opened to find out my problems. I have a Bahasa Indonesia task waiting to be done, and it !@#$s! Guess what: writing a description about my house, my bedroom or myself. See ya! =D
